James “Jimmy” Stevens
Harrington – On December 19, 2017, Jimmy Stevens was at Milford Memorial when he went home to be with the Lord.
He was born on June 14, 1950 in Burrsville, MD to the late Russell and Katherine Stevens.
Jimmy graduated from North Caroline High School in Denton, class of 1968. He also graduated from Delaware State University with a teaching certificate.
He taught collision repair at Kent North Vocational School, and later Poly Tech.
Jimmy enjoyed hot rods, local dirt track racing, riding his scooter, but most of all; spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Debbie Mead. Jimmy is also survived by his children, Dawn Stevens and her significant other Mike Evans, Shelby Lachmann, and Bucky Stevens and his wife Michelle, his grandchildren; Greyson Stevens, Buxton Arbaugh, Ali Evans, and Leif Lachmann, his stepsons, Robert and Adam Shaffer, and his sisters; Ruth Ann DeFord, Jean Davis, and Phylis Fallon.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Doris Reed.
The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, from 6-8PM on Wednesday 12/27, and an hour prior to the service at 12 noon on Thursday. Cremation to follow.
