Wilhelmina "Billie" Hastings

On November 6, 2024, Wilhelmina “Billie” Hastings (nee DeYoung), of Greenwood, DE, peacefully passed away at Delaware Hospice in Milford. She was the devoted wife of the late Lester G. Hastings, who preceded her in death in 2010. They celebrated 51 years of life together.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the loving daughter of the late William and Amelia (nee Hasler) DeYoung. Billie attended school in Philadelphia, graduating from Kensington High School in 1951.

Billie moved with her parents to Harrington, DE in the early 1950’s, where she met and married her beloved husband, residing in Milford, and ultimately on Abbotts Pond Road in Greenwood, DE.

She was employed by Playtex Products, Dover, DE for over 45 years and retired from there. She was a firm believer in giving back and supporting multiple charities.

Billie is survived by her sister, Marie D. Erne of Dover, DE and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to her late husband, Billie was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Buckley of Drexel Hill, PA and Esther Myers of Hatboro, PA.

The family will receive visitors at Rogers Hovatter Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, from 10AM to 11AM on Friday 11/15, with a funeral service at 11AM.

Interment will be Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
