Walter T. Savage
Age 67, of Frederica, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover.
Walter was born on August 6, 1944 in Salisbury, son of the late Theodore Walter and Maude Truitt Savage.
He was a self-employed painter for 40 years, retiring from the business in 1996.
Walter grabbed every opportunity to be around the water and especially loved fishing. He also enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren Savage and Frank Savage and a sister, Mary Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Ardys A. Savage; two sons, Walter T. Savage, III and his wife, Stephanie and T.J. Savage, all of Frederica; a daughter, Kelly Nunes and her husband, Joseph of American Canyon, CA; a step-son, Chad C. Hamblin of Olathe, KA; a sister, Elsie McGinnis of Bridgeville; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call one hour prior.
Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Make A Wish Foundation, 3411 Silverside Rd, Weldin Bldg, Suite 104, Wilmington, DE, 19810.
