Viola E. Johnson
Of Milford, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 at Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 87.
Viola was born on August 7, 1923 in Salem, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Ralph V. and Josephine (Urbanik) Brothers.
She was employed with the United States Government as a secretary in the International Development Office in charge of procuring housing throughout the U.S. for students from foreign countries, retiring after 32 years in her position.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Milford Senior Center and the Harrington Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Johnson in 2006.
She is survived by her sister, Carol Brothers of Milford, her good friend, Cecelia Fong and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, 6486 Bay Rd, Frederica.
Burial will follow the service.
