Georgetown - On February 3, 2024, Roberta “Bobbi” Lewis, peacefully passed away at Delaware Hospice. She was 62.
Bobbi was born on April 20, 1961 in Salisbury, MD to the late Raymond and Vera Swadley.
She grew up in Easton, MD and spent her summers in Ocean View, DE where she worked at her family’s restaurant, Tower Shores Restaurant, which is now known as Matt’s Fish Camp, in North Bethany Beach.
Bobbi graduated from Easton High School in 1979. She loved to sing and play the guitar and took the opportunity to tour Europe with the Maryland State Chorus.
Bobbi loved to help others and decided to become a Nurse. She received her Nursing Degree from Salisbury State College, and started working at Easton Memorial Hospital. With a heart for people with disabilities, she returned to Southern Delaware to work at the Stockley Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. When she retired from the State she supervised the care plans for the individuals housed in group homes. Bobbi loved her job caring for those who couldn’t care for themselves.
In her spare time, she enjoyed cross stitch and needle work, going to the beach, animals, cooking and baking, shopping, spending time on Facebook, and making new friends.
Bobbi is survived by her son, Tyler Patrick Lewis, her brother, Stephen Lee Swadley and his wife Pamela, her sister, Deborah Swadley Engel and her husband Kenneth, and her nieces, Stephanie Swadley-Wendel and her husband John, Beth Ann Swadley and her husband Anthony, and Sarah Pauline Engel.
A memorial service will be held at Rogers Hovatter Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, at 11AM on Saturday 2/17, with visitation starting at 10AM.
