Robert "Bob" J. Porter
HARRINGTON - Robert J. Porter passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood. He was 81.
Bob was born in Harrington on June 2, 1933, son of the late Robert and Helen Covington Porter.
He was the Assistant Manager of the A&P Store in Milford retiring from his position after 40 years with the company.
Bob was a member of the Independent Bible Fellowship Church in Harrington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan J. Porter, and a daughter, Donna Porter.
He is survived by a daughter, Gail L. Thompson and her boyfriend Barry Simpson of Harrington; a granddaughter, Kandi Willey and her husband Terry of Bridgeville; and two great grandchildren, Justin Willey and Brooke Jerman.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow the services in Milford Community Cemetery.
