Robert E. Southard III
MILFORD - Robert E. Southard III passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. He was 63.
Bob was born in Milford on November 20, 1950 the son of Robert E. Southard, Jr. and Helen Donovan Southard.
He was a self-employed businessman and mechanic operating Southard's Service Station in Milford since 1983.
Over the years Bob loved adding to his prized collections of antique Panzer tractors, Texaco airplanes, and Hess trucks. He was also an avid coin collector.
Bob was a member of the Milford Elks Lodge #2401 and a member of the Houston United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jeanette Ann Southard, a daughter, Patricia Southard and her fiancAC. Glen John Cahall of Dover; a son, Robert E. Southard, IV of Milford; his parents, Robert E. Southard, Jr. and Helen Southard of Houston; a sister, Connie Reed and her husband Wayne of Lincoln; a brother, Ronnie Southard and his wife Melody of Salisbury, MD; three grandchildren, Christian Cahall, Michael Southard, and Robert E. Southard V; and several beloved in-laws, nephews, nieces, and extended family.
Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Houston United Methodist Church, 235 Broad Street, Houston.
Burial will follow the services in the Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Houston United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 43, Houston, DE, 19954, or to Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Rd, Milford, DE, 19963.
