Philip E. Hickman
LINCOLN - Philip E. Hickman passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood.
He was born in Boothwyn, Pennsylvania on May 3, 1931, son of the late John Washington Hickman and Sally Jane (Conaway) Hickman.
Phil started Hickman Overhead Door in April of 1978 and ran the well known Milford based business establishment until 1985 when he turned the operations over to his daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and P.J. Walker.
He married his best friend, Faye Coffin Hickman on August 16, 1952 and was blessed with a large and loving family to whom he gave his total devotion. Phil's firm belief in God was also very important to him.
Phil was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Georgetown.
In addition to his parents, Phil was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon Hickman, John Thomas Hickman, and Ross Hickman; and two sisters, Jeanette Hickman Ross, and Louise Hickman Grant.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Faye Hickman; three daughters, Linda F. Hickman Lindale and her husband John of Amory, MS; Phyllis E. Hickman Walker and her husband P.J. of Milford; and Karen L. Hickman Irvin and her husband Johnny of Milford; six grandchildren, Ashley Lindale, Amanda Irvin, Amber Fleetwood, Lacey Wilson, Jeremiah Lindale, and Bryan Walker; and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 22860 DuPont Blvd, Georgetown, where friends may call after 12:00 p.m.
Burial will be in the Slaughter Neck Cemetery, 23221 Argos Corner Rd, Milford.
Following the interment, all are welcome back to the church for food and fellowship with the family and to celebrate Phil's life.
