Nancy M. Betts
MILFORD - Nancy M. Betts passed away at home on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Nancy was born on May 31, 1942 in Milford, daughter of the late Thomas Burton "Burt" Bowden and Gladys (Jefferson) Bowden.
She was employed with DuPont in Seaford, retiring after 20 years with the company.
For many years, Nancy enjoyed regular trips to Tangier Island. She loved the area and looked forward to visits and overnights with friends and family.
She was a member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Betts in 2013.
She is survived by a son, Courtney Messick of Milford; a step-son, Keith Betts of Lewes; two daughters, Lisa Workman of Greenwood, and Sutton Joseph of Laurel; a step-daughter, Kathy Martinez of Vancouver, Canada; a grandson whom they raised, Jeffrey Baker of Greenwood; two brothers, Gerald Bowden of Greenwood, and Terry Bowden of Milford; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
A celebration of Nancy's life will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Milford Moose Lodge #2316 Family Center, 20142 Beaver Dam Road, Milford.
Burial will be held privately.
