Marie "Susie" W. Bennett
Of Harrington, formerly of Milford, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 in Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 95.
Mrs. Bennett was born on November 13, 1916 in Pine Bush, New Jersey, daughter of the late George and Diana (Vollmar) Wintjen.
She was the owner/operator of Bennett's Dry Cleaners in Milford for many years before retiring from the business.
Susie enjoyed taking on sewing projects for family and friends in her home and was an avid gardener.
She was a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church in Milford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Layton Bennett in 2006, a brother, George Wintjen and three sisters; Elsie Gillespie, Margaret Carpenter and Helen Jester.
She is survived by her son, Glenn Bennett of Harrington and a grandson, Glenn Bennett, Jr. of Baltimore.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call one hour prior.
Burial will follow the service in Hollywood Cemetery, Route 14, Harrington.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions to the Reformation Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Ave, Milford, DE, 19963.
