Margaret Meyer Southard Hunsberger
June 3, 1923 - December 6, 2013
Marge died at her son's home with her family by her side in Milford on Friday, December 6, 2013.
She was born in Pennsylvania to Paul and Elizabeth Meyer. Marge moved to Wilmington in 1946 and relocated to Milford in 1986.
She last worked as a claims adjuster at the Home Insurance Company in Wilmington. She loved to travel, played cards in several card clubs with her friends, and was an amazing cook, well remembered for her apple pie.
She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Stanley Kaye Southard, her brother, Paul Edward Meyer, and her second husband, Clarence J. Hunsberger.
Marge is survived by her three children, Susan Scott of Vancouver, Washington; Donna Zittere of Wilmington; and Alan Southard (wife Jackie) of Milford; six grand children, Benjamin Zittere (wife Kate) of San Diego, California, Margaret Zittere of Wilmington, Brennan Scott of Portland, Oregon, Ethan Southard of Los Angeles, California, Adam Southard (wife Leah) of Magnolia, and Christopher Southard (fiancAC.e Nicole Gough) of Milford; and two great grand children, Corynn and Ayden Southard of Magnolia.
A viewing will be held at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, on Thursday, December 12, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by the service beginning at 7 p.m. conducted by her grandson, Ethan Southard.
Interment will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd in Bear.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be sent to Christiana Care Visiting Nurse Assn, 2116 S. DuPont Hwy, Camden, DE, 19934 or for Alzheimer's research at the Scripps Research Institute, 10550 North Torrey Pines Rd, La Jolla, CA, 92037.
