Malcolm Foster

August 21, 1923 — January 2, 2019

Lincoln – On January 2, 2019, Malcolm B. Foster went home to be with the Lord.

He was born on August 21, 1923, to the late Merwin and Stella Foster in Phoenix, NY.

Malcolm honorably served our country during WWII in the Army from 1942 to 1946.

Mr. Foster worked as a Communications Manager for Readers Digest until retiring in 1985 at age 62.

While working at Readers Digest he served as pastor for Yorktown Community Church from 1965-1988.

Once moving to Milford, he served as pastor and then organist at Cedar Neck Church.

He was active in the community serving as the 1st President of the Milford Community Band and a member of the Symrna Fire Dept. Band.

Along with those he played baritone for High School, the Army, and the Syracuse University Band.

Mr. Foster planned and directed many Patriotic Programs in Milford for over 20 years.

Malcolm was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the American Legion, and the Milford Senior Center.

He enjoyed stamp collecting, traveling, and playing piano.

Malcolm was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Foster, and his brother Jack Foster.

He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Foster (Marie), and Melanie Hatter (Richard), both from Lincoln, and Wanda Schnaudigel (Rodman) from Shrub Oak, NY, and Heidi Scribner (Jason) from Southern Pines, NC, and 8 grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, from 10AM to 12PM, with a funeral service at 12PM, on Saturday 1/12.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to Cedar Neck Church, 3413 McColley Road, Milford, DE 19963.
