Lee A. Jones
MILFORD - Lee A. Jones passed away at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford on Monday, January 4, 2016. He was 82.
He was born on August 27, 1933 in Roanoke, Virginia, son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Loony) Jones.
Lee was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He served his country faithfully for 22 years, retiring as a Staff Sergeant in 1972. He later accepted employment with Baltimore Air Coil in Milford and remained there for several years, retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed woodworking and always looked forward to visits from his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Besides his family and friends, Lee will be greatly missed also by his two canine companions, Beau and Cookie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Jones, and a sister, JoeAnne Harr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty J. Jones; two sons, Joseph A. Jones of Seaford, and Cal L. Jones and his wife Theresa of Lincoln; a daughter, Sonia Evans and her husband Donald of Seaford; a sister, Peggy Brown of Roanoke, VA; and 36 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Services and burial with full military honors will be held privately by the family.
