Milford – On December 23, 2023, Lawrence H. Davis “Larry” peacefully went home to be with the Lord. He was 78.
Larry was born in Milford on May 21, 1945 to the late Harold and Lucy Davis.
He graduated from Milford High School in 1963. After graduating Larry joined the Air Force and honorably served our country for over 25 years, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. He also served as an Aircraft Mechanic at Lockheed Martin.
Larry was also an aviation pilot and flight instructor and well known for his flight experience and knowledge. He flew planes for pleasure but also enjoyed flying commercially for various aviation businesses. Larry flew skydivers at various drop zones in many states where many skydiving stories, friendships and memories were made. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners Pilots Association (A.O.P.A.), a member of the Delaware Farm Bureau, Milford Elks Lodge, Milford Moose Lodge, V.F.W., and the N.R.A.
Larry enjoyed hunting and flying, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Kelly. He enjoyed watching her in sporting events and took great pleasure in watching her playing and driving her Can Am around his farms.
Mr. Davis is survived by his son, Britt Davis and his wife Dana, his granddaughter, Kelly Davis, his brother, John S. Davis, and his nieces and nephew, Michelle Deputy, Heather Watson, and John Davis, Jr.
The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave. Milford, from 11AM to 1PM on Saturday 12/30, with a funeral service at 1PM.
Burial is in Milford Community Cemetery.
