MILFORD - On September 7, 2017, Mrs. Kathryn Johnson Barnes, 87, passed away at her residence.
She was born on May 12, 1930, in Cambridge, MD, to Milford and Mary Johnson.
Mrs. Barnes graduated from Cambridge High School in 1948 and married Maurice Barnes in 1950.
Kathryn worked as a bookkeeper at Hearns and Philips Hardware in Cambridge.
She was a member of the Victory Chapter of the Eastern Star, Avenue U.M.C., sang in several choirs, and The Sweet Adelines and The Harmonettes singing groups.
Kathryn was survived by her daughter, Carol Barnes Lenik and her husband John; her son, Maurice Carl Barnes, Jr. and his wife Penny, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband Maurice C. Barnes, Sr., and her brothers, Frances, Robert, Jacob, and Benjamin Johnson, and her sisters, Sarah Frase, Norma Eberspacher, and Margaret Ann McKenrick.
The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4PM on Sunday, September 10th, at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford. The funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
