Wilmington – On June 6, 2022, Joseph Paul “Pop” Leyanna peacefully passed away under the loving care of his daughter Brenda Jo Hallstead and her husband Jimmy.
Joe was born on November 7, 1929 in Ridley Township, Milmont, PA to the late Clarence and Florence Leyanna (nee Eckert).
Pop was a hard-working, hard-fighting, and good hearted man. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran who loved his country and was willing to die for his country to save it. He was loving father, brother, uncle, and friend, and was willing to die for his family to save it. Joe was a good Catholic son who believed that Jesus Christ died to save all of us. He was the epitome of what every American male should be.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ida Leyanna (nee Passwaters) in 1972 and his loving wife, Libby Leyanna (nee Walls) in 2015.
He is survived by his daughter Brenda Jo Hallstead and her husband Jimmy, his brother, George Leyanna of Felton, DE, his “son”, Boaz Passwaters of Milford, DE, and nieces, nephews, and cousins too numerous to mention, but all dearly loved.
Pop will be missed more than mere words can express.
