Joan Ann Kimmey
MILFORD - Joan Ann Kimmey passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Milford Center. She was 78.
Joan was born in Wilmington on August 17, 1936, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anne (Barlow) Baggs.
She was employed by DuPonts in Wilmington as a communication director for 18 years, retiring from her position in 1994.
Joan loved spending time at the beach, shopping, and was especially fond of the festivities and traditions surrounding the Christmas holiday.
She was a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Baggs.
Joan is survived by three sons, Steven Kimmey of Baltimore, MD; Ted Kimmey and his wife JoEllen of Milford, and Craig Kimmey of Ellendale; a daughter, Cheryl Kingsley and her husband Floyd of Bear; a sister, Barbara McKee of Lancaster, PA; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A celebration of Joan's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St, Milford, where friends may greet the family after 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 625, Georgetown, DE, 19947.
