Joan Dudley

On September 8, 2022, Joan H. Dudley, peacefully passed away at Polaris Healthcare in Milford.

She was born on May 7, 1932 in Milford to the late Karl and Mary Harrison. Joan graduated from Milford High School and was active in Track and Field, winning several awards.

Mrs. Dudley’s employment included working at J. William Wells Building & Loan, as well as Sussex Trust Bank. She retired from her favorite job as a Cafeteria Worker where she loved feeding the children at the Milford School District cafeterias.

Her favorite hobbies included gardening and tending to her irises and her prized night blooming cereus. She enjoyed collecting recipes and cookbooks and spending time in the kitchen trying out dishes. Joan was an avid reader of books on natural medicine as well.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William A. Dudley, Sr. She is survived by her son, William A. Dudley, Jr. and his wife Sharon, her daughter, Nancy Brown and her husband Buddy, her grandchildren, Ryne, Rydge, and Tanner Dudley, Christina Haswell, and Jenna Reynolds and her husband Art, and her great grandchildren, Noah, Nathaniel, and Derrick.

A memorial service will be held at Rogers Funeral home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford at 1PM on Sunday 9/25. Visitation starts at 12 noon.
