Helen Louise Southard
HOUSTON – Helen L. Southard went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Milford Center, after a short stay, surrounded by her loving family and staff. She was 82.
Helen was born on July 9, 1932 in Frederica to the late Robert and Mary A. (Harris) Donovan.
She was a proud homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, all things nature, and all aspects of her loving family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Robert E. Southard, III; sisters, Catherine Simpler Blades and Evelyn Cade; and brothers, Robert Donovan and John Donovan.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert E. Southard, Jr. of Houston; a daughter and her husband, Connie and Wayne Reed of Lincoln; a son and his wife, Ronnie and Melody Southard of Salisbury, MD; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Ann Southard of Milford; a sister-in-law, Hilda Donovan of Houston; eight grandchildren, Patricia Cahall (Glen John), Wayne Reed (Fran), Robert E. Southard IV, Tina Wilkins (Dustin), Derek Reed, Ashley Spera (Steve), Victoria Southard, and Harrison Bradley; seven great-grandchildren; and several beloved in-laws, nephews, nieces, and extended family.
Services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call one hour prior.
Burial will follow the services in the Lincoln Cemetery.
