Helen S. Jenkins

Of Lincoln, formerly of Seaford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at home. She was 96.

Helen was born on May 21, 1915 in Whaleysville, Maryland, daughter of the late Elijah and Mary Elizabeth (Jones) Shockley.

She was employed as a seamstress for 20 years with the Walker's Garment Factory in Blades, retiring in 1977.

In her younger years, Helen and her husband, Wesley, spent special times together ballroom dancing. She also enjoyed playing bridge and traveling to various destinations after they both retired.

She was an active member of the St. John's United Methodist Church in Seaford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Shockley and Thomas Shockley.

She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Wesley H. Jenkins, a daughter and son-in-law; Diane and Bob Lank of Milford; two brothers and sisters-in-law; Franklin and Emma Jean Shockley of Seaford and Henry Dale and Jean Shockley of Cedar Hill, MS; a sister and brother-in-law, Norma Lee and Allan Temple of Seaford; two grandchildren, Robin Lank and Robert "Chip" Lank, Jr. and a great grandson, Matthew Lank.

Services and burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to St. John's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 299, Seaford, DE 19973.
