George Caccamise

George F. Caccamise

LINCOLN - George F. Caccamise passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, February 23, 2016.  He was 70.

He was born in Fredonia, New York on February 18, 1946, son of the late Frank and Bessie (Catania) Caccamise.

Following high school, George attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, from where he graduated in 1968 with a degree in Biology.

He accepted a position with the Milford School District as a science teacher and remained there for 30 years, retiring in 1998.  In addition to teaching, George also spent many after school hours assisting as a coach with the Buccaneers' football, track, and wrestling teams.

George later took an interest in the real estate industry and worked as a realtor with the Wells Agency in Milford.

He enjoyed golf, playing cards with family and friends, and traveling to many destinations around the world with his wife, Linda.

George was a dedicated member of the Milford Lions Club, serving over the years as the organizations President, Vice President, Deputy District Governor, and Zone Chairman.  He was also a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church in Milford.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda L. Caccamise; his daughter, Lisa Caccamise of Lindenhurst, Illinois; three sisters, Antonette Simmons of Orchard Park, NY, Mary Zanghi and her husband Douglas of Fredonia, NY, and Jane Kendrick and her husband David of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; and a granddaughter, Alexa Caccamise.

A celebration of George's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Reformation Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where the family will welcome friends after 12:00 p.m.

Interment will be held privately.
