L. Gay Adams
Of Milford, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 53.
Gay was born on June 22, 1957 in Groton, Connecticut, daughter of Jeannette Elliott Collison and the late John Elliott.
She was employed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant working with the In Patient Rehabilitation Care Unit of Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital.
Gay enjoyed refinishing old furniture and had an uncanny knack for repairing all sorts of things from whence she was given the title of "Miss Fix It". She was also a motorcycle enthusiast owning one of her own and loving the times spent riding it. One of her other hobbies was putting puzzles together, some of her favorites she had framed and displayed in her home.
She is survived by a son, Edward Adams of Milford; a daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Mark Root of Quarryville, PA; her mother, Jeannette Collison of Lincoln; a brother and sister-in-law, John Sr. and Deborah Elliott of Milford; a sister and brother-in-law, Julie and David Harrington of Wilmington and three grandchildren; Chloe Root, Ethan Root and Elizabeth Root.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call one hour prior.
Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE, 19720.
