Gale G. Grove
Of Felton, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his home. He was 86.
He was born on March 21, 1926 in Milford, son of the late Charles Eugene and Minnie Belle (Palmeter) Grove.
Mr. Grove was a veteran of the Army Air Corp serving his country during World War II.
He was employed for 26 years as a computer analyst with Playtex in Dover before accepting a position as a computer programmer in the System's Division of the State of Delaware from where he retired.
Gale was a member and past president of the Milford Lions Club where he was a Melvin Jones Fellow and held the distinction of 60 years of perfect attendance and was a member of the People's United Church of Christ in Dover.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Grove was preceded in death by his brother, Charles N. Grove and four sisters; Maxine Thompson, Elizabeth Kellerman, Jane Postles Maxwell and Charlotte O'Rear.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann M. Grove; three sons, Gale "Gar" G. Grove, Jr. of Lewes, J. Chris Grove of Bonaire, GA and Jeff Grove and his wife Cara of Sneads Ferry, NC and five grandchildren; James Grove, Jr., Danny Grove and his wife Marie, Lillianne Grove, Sean Grove and his wife Jennifer and Colin Grove.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call two hours prior.
Burial with military honors will follow the service in the Milford Community Cemetery on N. Walnut Street.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the People's United Church of Christ, 46 S. Bradford St, Dover, DE, 19901.
