Elon T. Eisenbrey
HOUSTON - Elon T. Eisenbrey passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Milford Center in Milford. She was 89.
She was born on November 17, 1925 in Selbyville, daughter of the late Israel and Ella Lewis Townsend.
Mrs. Eisenbrey worked in retail sales for 30 years employed at separate times for Coppersmith Women's Apparel and Leggett Department Store, both located in Milford, before retiring.
Elon enjoyed knitting and was a dedicated volunteer with two local fire companies. She was a life member of both the Houston Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Carlisle Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Houston United Methodist Church.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Milford Center for the exceptional care given to Elon while she was a resident there.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Eisenbrey in 1986; two brothers, Harry Townsend and Sylvester Townsend; and three sisters, Alberta F. Long, Hattie T. Russell, and Ruth Moore.
Elon is survived by two sons, John Eisenbrey, III and his wife Joan of Milford, and Jeff Eisenbrey and his wife Mary of Dover; six grandchildren, John Eisenbrey, IV, James Eisenbrey, Jennifer Eisenbrey Dickinson, Justin Eisenbrey, Heather Eisenbrey, and Jessica Eisenbrey; and six great grandchildren, Thomas Eisenbrey, Samantha Dickinson, Olivia Eisenbrey, Evan Dickinson, Carter Eisenbrey, and Lizzie H. Morris.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Milford Community Cemetery on Route 113. Interment will follow the services.
