Donald M. Maloney
Age 87, of Milford, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at his home.
Donald was born on March 16, 1926 in Milford to the late McKinley and Averla (Shockley) Maloney.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during World War II.
Mr. Maloney was employed for several years processing products for retail sales at Playtex in Dover before accepting a position with the Wastewater Treatment Facility in Frederica from where he retired.
In season, Donald was an avid fox and rabbit hunter and also enjoyed gardening.
He was a member of the America Legion Post #3 in Milford.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Maloney was preceded in death by four brothers; Rollin Maloney, Richard Maloney, Bruce Maloney, and Jr Maloney.
He is survived by his best friend and constant companion of 14 years, Shirley Carroll; two sons, Dennis Maloney of Harrington and David Maloney of Dover; a daughter, Faye D. Lecates of Milford; a brother, Tom Maloney of Milford; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and Shirley's children; Neal Carroll and wife Candy, Jerry Carroll, Barbara Smith and husband Tim, and Brenda Shafer and husband Larry.
Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m.
Burial will follow the service in the Milford Community Cemetery on North Walnut Street.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to your favorite charity in Donald's memory.
