Donald M. Cola passed away at his home in Milford, DE on July 31, 2020.
He was born in Woonsocket, RI in 1940 to Mario and Jeanne Cola.
After graduating High School, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, serving in Bermuda and in New England as an Electronics Technician (ET1).
He married his wife, Jackie while training in Norfolk, VA. They were married for 57 years.
After retiring, he and Jackie earned the title of "Looper" having completed "The Great Loop" on their boat, Windless. They moved off the boat and onto an RV. In the Motor home, they traveled throughout the continental United States and up to Alaska and across Canada from the Maritimes to British Columbia. While on the boat and RV, they enjoyed visiting and spending time with their kids and grandkids and they visited about three quarters of the US National Parks.
He was a lifelong member of both the Lions Club International and the Elks Lodge. He was a past president of a club in eastern Connecticut and a member of both the Lions and Elks Clubs in Milford, Delaware.
In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, tinkering, and knot work.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie, his sister Donna, three children, 11 grandchildren, nieces, nephew, and other relatives.
