Donald Brittingham

Milford – On May 9, 2018, Donald L. “Britt” Brittingham passed away peacefully at Delaware Hospice.

He was born on September 7, 1933 in Milford to the late Calvin and Margaret Brittingham.

Growing up Britt worked on the family farm until he started with Milford Tractor Company and later Milford Fertilizer in 1969 until his retirement in 1998.

He was a member of the Cedarfield Ruritan Club and the F.F.A. Britt was on the board for Milford Parks and Recreation, and enjoyed coaching Milford Little League from 1967 to 1976. He was also a Past President of the Southern Delaware Umpires Association.

Britt was an avid hunter and a past member of Ducks Unlimited. He was also a member of the South Bowers Hunt Club.

Mr. Brittingham was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Brittingham.

He is survived by his children, Deborah A. Plack and her husband Chris, Michael A. Brittingham and his wife Carol, and Robert C. Brittingham and his wife Alice, his grandchildren, Andrea Plack, Christian Plack, Jr. and his wife Jessica, Michael A. Brittingham, II, Staci Van Beveren and her husband Rick, Wendy LeGates, and Krissi Burdette and her husband James, his great grandchildren, Aidan, Alex, Owen, Jessica, Olivia, and Jackson, his sister, Barbara McGee and her husband Ron, and his best friend, Rick Simms.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers from the Country Rest Home and Delaware Hospice for their compassionate care.

The family will receive visitors at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, from 10am-12pm on Wednesday 5/16, with a funeral service at 12 noon. Interment is Slaughter Neck Cemetery.
