Clarence Joseph Binette (Benny), Felton, DE and Old Town, died of congestive heart failure on September 17, 2024 at his home in Felton. He was born October 17, 1947 in Old Town, Maine to Clarence E. and Lillian (Daigle) Binette.
Benny was a 1966 graduate of Old Town High School, following which he began a 40 year career at the local paper mill where he was eventually promoted to Digester Operator. He retired as Master Sergeant from the Air National Guard after 35 years of service.
Benny was a highly skilled carpenter and found enjoyment in renovating the Bradley house he and his father had originally built. He created beautiful furniture for both his homes. His skills were many and varied. After relocating to Delaware, his neighbors discovered his talents and he had more work than he could handle.
He was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing with his sons and friends. He loved the woods and lakes of Maine, some of his best times were boating with Sharon and friends. His two Scottish Terriers, Harry and Honey, brought him great joy. He could be seen every morning walking them through the neighborhood.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon King of Felton, her daughter Amanda Craig and husband Douglas, and their children Owen and Olivia, of Darien, CT. — they loved their Papa Benny.
He was previously married to Rebecca Binette of Old Town, the mother of his three children, sons Mark and Christopher, and daughter Suzanne. He is also survived by four beloved grandchildren, Megan White, Christopher Binette, Allison Johnson, and Maliyan Binette, and one great grandchild, Samantha White.
Benny also leaves three sisters, Catherine Bradbury of Stockton Springs, ME, Delvina Ader of Boynton Beach, FL, and Elizabeth Binette of Americus, GA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friends.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service. Benny will be cremated and his ashes will remain in the home he shared with Sharon.
In closing Benny requested that everyone stay safe and be kind. Love and Peace out!
