Cheryl de Luca (formally Massey) of Greenwood, DE, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on March 22, 2021 she was 77 years old.
Cheryl was born on January 30, 1944 in Wilmington, DE before her family settled in Milford. Cheryl graduated Milford High School in 1962 and later received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Wilmington College. Cheryl was a teacher’s assistant with the Milford School District for over 30 years before her retirement, and organized the first teacher’s aide union within the district.
Cheryl had many hobbies and diverse interests. She was an avid reader, birdwatcher, and gardener. She loved music, going to the movies, the performing arts, cultural events, and shopping. She enjoyed a good crab cake, a strong cup of tea, and had no problem stealing a French fry from someone’s plate. She took pride in her appearance, and kept an immaculant home and yard. You could always find her house nicely decorated for all holidays.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Edward de Luca of Greenwood. A daughter, Diane Massey of Milford, a son Robert Massey of Ellendale and his wife Karen, as well as numerous cousins and extended family members.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday May 25th 2021 at Rogers’s funeral home, 301 Lakeview Ave Milford from 1PM to2PM with a memorial service for Cheryl at 2PM.
