Charles Edward Rogers
Of Milford, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011, after a brief stay at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 83.
Mr. Rogers was born on January 4, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Frederick and Marion Rogers of Annapolis, MD.
He spent most of his career in the Printing Industry. He began working with his father-in-law Frank A. Jackson in Milford. Mr. Rogers was the General Manager of Dover Litho Printing from 1962 thru 1968, after which he and his wife, Betty, restarted Jackson Printing and merged with the Sussex Countian in 1971 and formed the Countian Press in Georgetown.
In 1973 he began teaching Graphic Arts at Milford High School and remained in that position until his retirement in 1989.
Mr. Rogers continued to serve on Rogers Graphics, Inc. Board of Directors until 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Jackson) Rogers, with whom he would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on July 14, 2011; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles J. and Lucille Rogers and Frank E. and Kim Rogers; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and David Isaacs; a sister and brother-in-law, Julia and William Schneider of Dandridge, TN; eight grandchildren, Matthew Rogers, Jason Rogers, Michael Rogers, Brandon Rogers, Ray Robbins, Caitlin Rogers, Wendy Smith and Tina Robbins Kuser; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and two nieces.
A memorial service will be held privately.
The family has requested memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE, 19963.
