Charles A. Palo, Sr.
Of Lincoln, Delaware passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 77.
Charles was born on July 6, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late James E. and Margaret (Sajko) Palo.
He was employed at separate times as a machinist with General Electric in Philadelphia and in the same position for the Boeing Company. Charles later owned and operated a commercial cleaning business for several years before retiring in 1999.
Charles loved the outdoors and spent most of his free time camping, fishing, crabbing, and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Lynn Palo, a brother, James Palo, a sister, Phyllis Hassiepen, and a step son, Steven Giers.
He is survived by five sons, Charles Palo, Jr. and his wife Christine of Woodlyn, Pa; Bartholomew H. Palo of Glenolden, Pa; James D. Palo and his wife Denise of Lincoln, De; Joseph M. Palo of Mechanicsburg, Pa; and Anthony C. Palo of Georgetown, De; a step-son, Richard Giers of Boothwyn, Pa; a daughter, Karen Glandzmann of Folsom, Pa; his former wife, Norma Palo of Folsom, Pa; a sister Helen Propst of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow the services at the Milford Community Cemetery on Route 113.
