Charles E. Millman
Of Milford, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Westminster Village in Dover. He was 89.
He was born on September 17, 1922 in Philadelphia, son of the late Alexander and Gussie (Derr) Millman.
Mr. Millman was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during World War II with Big Red I in the European Theatre.
He was employed with Fisher Furniture and Appliance in Milford as a salesman, designing blue prints for heating and air conditioning systems, and later in the same capacity with the N.B. Downing Co in Milford from where he retired in 1985.
Charles was an avid hunter as well as an accomplished breeder and trainer of Labrador Retrievers, selling them to outdoorsmen around the United States for hunting and field trial competitions.
He was a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church in Milford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law; Peggy and Ron Wright of Clearwater, FL and Jennifer Miller of Milford; a grandson, Alex Ingram and a special friend, Carol Schnyer of Dover.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford, where friends may call one hour prior.
Burial will follow the service in Ellendale Cemetery in Ellendale.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Reformation Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Ave, Milford, DE, 19963.
