On August 18th Bobby was surrounded by prayer, music, and Family. Bobby entered the Kingdom of God. He was 70 years old. Bobby was born December 17, 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland to Constance Bell-Smith.
He graduated from Northwestern High School in Baltimore, MD. Then attended a community college before deciding to join the AirForce. While stationed at Dover Air Force Base for 8 years, He traveled on different assignments and training. Dover is where Bobby met and married the love of his life Cassandra Taylor of Millsboro, DE on February 14th, 1987.
He retired as a 1st SGT from the US Air Force in 1995 after serving for 20 years. Where he received many awards after training. His last tour of duty he was stationed at Plattsburgh, AFB. After retirement he desired to move back to Delaware. Bobby graduated from Wilmington College with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Resource Management.
Bobby was employed with Dover Housing Authority for over 20 years. He was one of four children. Preceded him in death his sister Iris Coates. He leaves to cherish his memory; Mom and Dad Clarence & Constance Smith, his wife Cassandra, two sister’s Toya, Toni (Clarence Matthews). Five children: 3 daughters Nikkia (Mervin), Kivani, Kassandra and two sons Jevon and Kylan Smith (Gwen) and 7 grandchildren Kiandra, Jason, Christiana, Christian, Carter, Princeton and Christopher. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Bobby served the Lord in multiple areas. He studied at Jameson Bible School and was called as an Evangelist and teacher of the word of God. He and his wife ministered and shared God’s word wherever they went. While hospitalized he continued to testify of God’s goodness. Together with his wife they had a ministry called (Disciples fishing for disciples). He loved people and God. Bobby’s love for music was one of his passions especially his bass guitars (Multiple). He shared his love for music and teaching with several ministries in Delaware. He attended Destiny Christian Church, in Dover. DE for 28 Years.
