Milford - On December 6, 2023, Anne B. Spicer, peacefully went home to be with the Lord. She was 89.
Mrs. Spicer was born in Milford on August 26, 1934 to the late Henry and Mary (Phillips) Bennett.
She graduated from Milford High School in 1952.
Early in her life Anne worked as a Secretary for the Department of Social Services for the State of Delaware and was Co- Chairwoman of Sussex County for the American Cancer Society.
She taught Sunday School at Ellendale U.M.C. and was a leader in the Bible Study Fellowship. Later on, she became an avid member of Avenue U.M.C.
Mrs. Spicer and her late husband enjoyed owning and racing standardbred horses, but the thing she enjoyed the most was spending time with her grandson, Colby.
She was known to all as a wonderful mother, neighbor, friend, and wife.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband Raymond W. Spicer, her parents, her sisters, Phyllis Hill and Barbara Walls, and her brother, Charles Bennett.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Johnson and her husband Walton “Poncho” Johnson, III, and her grandson, Colby B. Johnson.
The family will receive visitors at Avenue U.M.C. from 11:30AM to 1PM on Wednesday 12/13, with a funeral service at 1PM.
Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery.
