Anne Marie Adams
Of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was 76.
Anne was born on November 13, 1934 in Staten Island, New York, daughter of the late Peter and Marjorie (Dolan) DisKavis.
Mrs. Adams was employed for 15 years as a bookkeeper in the accounting office of Messick & Gray Construction in Greenwood, retiring from her position in 1996.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening and traveling with her husband in their motor home. Anne was one of the founding members of the Shanty Shakers Good Sam Camping Club started in 1985.
Anne was a member of the Friends of the Greenwood Library, the BSH Society of Curtis High in Staten Island and a member of the St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Harrington.
She was much loved and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Harriet Nogueira.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Wayne Adams; five children; Patricia A. Prettyman and her husband Paul of Newark; Herbert W. Allen and his wife Penny of Norwich, NY; William P. Allen and his wife Juliet of Wilmington; JoAnn Medina of Houston, TX and Robin June Wolfley and her husband Mark of Houston, TX; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8th at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 109 Dixon St, Harrington.
Burial will follow the service at St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Friends of the Greenwood Public Library, P.O. Box 839, Greenwood, DE, 19950.
